Dominic Raab, who is deputising for BoJo whilst he recuperates, has confirmed a further 3 weeks for the UK lock down stating “this is not the moment to give coronavirus a second chance”.
In other news, Captain Tom has completed his 100 laps of his garden to be greeted at the finish line with a special guard of honour from the 1st Battalion of the Yorkshire Regiment. There has been call from the public for his knighthood, and a petition has been started. Also, an address has been published for UK citizens to send Tom a birthday card. Got to love the great spirit this man has managed to whip up!
Day 23 & 24
After waking up aching all over from the run, the majority of Thursday was spent giving myself a little nail care, removing my old shellac and repainting with a little art thrown in. It was nice to have the time to do this at leisure and experiment, usually I just paint my nails one colour and get the job done as quickly as possible.
In the afternoon I sat out and enjoyed the last rays of promised sunshine in the garden, whilst writing my latest book review. But the evening quickly turned cold and it was clear the worse weather was on it’s way. After dinner, I whiled away the evening playing PlayStation and starting my next novel.
Friday I awoke to grey clouds, wind and rain. The predicted dip in the weather had arrived. Still almost 4 weeks of uninterrupted sunshine is not to be sniffed at, especially in Cornwall.
The day started with the usual, and then a one and a half hour live chat conversation with Vodafone successfully setting up our new broadband package.
Afterwards Mum went out to the supermarket to pick up some essentials and I made the most of the dreary afternoon on the PlayStation hunting an elusive special horse in RDR2.
Now, as some of you will know, you spend a lot of time riding around in this game, most quests are really far apart and then it's always quite a distance to go sell items etc. Therefore, horse speed is key, and I can safely say that the White Arabian is definitely worth the hassle of taming it. In fact it took me many tries and plenty of forum searching before I managed it but it's acceleration and speed are the highest you can get in the game for free. Also, the same area is home to one of the 16 legendary animals, the White Bison. This is a sort of side quest in the game but is quite good fun to try and complete, plus you get some rare items too.
Later on in the evening when the drizzle seemed to have finally cease, we took Buddy for a stroll around the empty city streets. Truro isn't a particularly lively city in the night time but there was definitely something eerie about not seeing a soul out on a Friday night. Something I still haven't got used to about lock down.
Once we were home, it was still early enough for another hour or so of gaming before getting tucked into bed with my book.
