REVIEW: In Case You Missed It by Lindsey Kelk

Updated: Sep 6, 2020

After 3 year working the US, Ros is back home and in desperate need of a new job, a new flat and a new start. But life has gone on whilst Ros has been away her friends are leading very different lives, and her parents are enjoying a child free home, perhaps a little too much.

But when she accidentally sends out a text with her new number to all her contacts, messages begin to pop up from her old life. In particular, one that she thought she’d erased forever: the man who broke her heart.

This is the first book I have read by Kelk, but I had high hopes for finding a new favourite author after reading so much high praise for her works online.

Sadly, I found this story to be pretty slow and I wasn’t that keen on Ros as the main protagonist. I also felt like everything of worth happened in the last 10-15% of the book.

The story itself was well written and I have, since finishing, seen reviews claiming this possibly isn’t up to Kelk’s usual standard and therefore, I would give another by her a go. It was an enjoyable story, but it didn’t make me laugh out loud like others in this genre.

* Thanks to Harper Collins, via NetGalley, for this ARC *
