REVIEW: No-one Ever Has Sex on Holiday (No-one Ever Has Sex #5)

If Katy, Ben and four of their closest friends think a week in Spain is going to be sun, sex and sangria – they can think again!

The 3 families believe they are well prepared for the trials of a summer holiday, but it turns out the kids aren’t the ones playing up.

When the group meet jilted Ollie and unsure bride-to-be Cassie, their dreams for a relaxing on a sun lounger interspersed with some good old-fashioned family time couldn’t be further from reality!

I seem destined to only read every other instalment of this series, number 4 having passed me by, which is a real shame because they are so great! However, due to the easiness of the storylines it isn’t hard to catch up and I never really felt liked I’d missed any huge details, just lots of giggles I’m sure.

In this book we see Katy and Ben join their friends for the first family holiday abroad, kidding themselves from the beginning that they are going to get any R&R. What ensues is far from relaxing, a budget airline flight seated amongst a rowdy hen party, a battle in the restaurant each day and most definitely no sex in the evenings.

All put together this makes for a laugh out loud read. What I love about Bloom, is you know what you’re getting. When I pick up a book by this author, I know I’m going to have a giggle and enjoy wasting a few hours turning the pages to devour the book in one sitting!

Even though this is for the most part a very comical read, it does touch on some more serious issues. Bloom doesn’t go into great depth with this but it’s obvious to the reader there is some suffering with mental health for one of the characters. What I found interesting was that the other characters weren’t alarmed by the behaviour, I think this makes it clear that mental health is so easy to miss.
