REVIEW - The Late Blossoming of Frankie Green

When Frankie Greens marriage suddenly comes crumbling down around her ears due to her lack of enthusiasm in the bedroom she embarks on getting herself a sex education, but will it be enough?

Em is career focussed and pushing herself towards promotion, but when she realises she has feelings for her colleague after a one night stands will a career path be the one she decides to follow?

Letty is the more outgoing of her friends. When she finds herself in a relationship with a married man she thinks it’s the perfect noncommittal situation for her, but will she realise there’s more to life than being the fun time girl?

This is the first book I have read by Laura Kemp but it won’t be the last! I found her writing to be extremely refreshing and the story itself was well told. The protagonists were well padded out with just the right amount of background information to help the reader develop a clear picture of who they were and understand their reactions to certain situations. I did think Frankie was possibly a little too naïve at times with regards to her sexual experiences but this didn’t affect my feelings towards her. Floyd was by far my favourite character, and I often found myself laughing out loud when he was featured.

I’m looking forward to reading another book by Kemp.
