When Ruby packs in university and heads back to the bosom of her family in Wynbridge for Christmas she knows it's not going to be an easy ride. Her father will be less then happy that she has given up her education for a temporary job on a market stall, and she will have to encounter the ex love of her life every day as he will be running the pitch directly next to hers.
However, all is not as it seems. The market and the heart of the village is in jeopardy due to the recent development of a retail park. Ruby is sure her council worker father knows more than he is letting on, and she makes it her own personal mission to help the community.
With only a few weeks until Christmas can Ruby make a difference for the people of Wynbridge?
I loved this book and it was a delight to be back in Wynbridge!
Heidi Swain has such a talent for writing such lovable characters. With each new story comes a new set of characters taking centre stage but we also get to continue peeking into the lives of the previous protagonists which is a real gem! I haven't enjoyed a centred series as much since Jo Carnegies 'Churchminster'.
Ruby and Steve and all the market vendors were a wonderful addition to the cast and I look forward to reading more from Swain and Wynbridge in the future!
