This book has been on my to-read list since a little after its publication, and having just visited Venice I thought this was the absolute perfect time to read it.
Unfortunately after it's years sitting on the shelf I was disappointed. The characters were somewhat dull and in my opinion there were too many.
My favourite parts of the story were the flashbacks to Adele and Jacks past, Henry really gave these a feeling of ambience and history. Due to this connection I liked Imogen and Danny's role in the story too, and think that should have been the main plot. For me the other storylines were unnecessary and I found myself rushing through these drab parts.
