When the headmaster of an esteemed boys school is found hanging from the assembly hall rafters it looks like a clear cut suicide. Except his body isn't the only one that's popped up in Exeter recently.
Troubled DS Imogen Grey and reckless DS Adrian Miles are desk bound, their DCI won't have them messing this case up. When they believe the murders are linked and nobody will listen to them they decide to take matters into their own hands.
But how deep does corruption run and how far does the web of deceit reach?
This is the debut novel from author Katerina Diamond, and what a debut it is! Written from several narrative strands this story is fast paced and original. I constantly wanted to read 'just one more chapter', which is delightfully easy as they are rather short and snappy! Although not really a case of whodunnit as it's fairly predictable from early on, the writing is so good it kept me gripped to the very last page.
The majority of the characters are likeable especially Detectives Grey and Miles. The relationship and rapport these two protagonists have is humorous to read.
I am highly anticipating the release of the second instalment in this series.
