When Bridget Reid goes missing a new case is opened. For DS Imogen Grey memories from her past are brought to the surface. When a murder takes place and DS Miles is called to the scene the case all starts to get a little too close to home.
Is this a simple case of a missing person or are some secrets much darker than they thought?
This is the second instalment in this series by Diamond and I have to say I found it a lot more gripping and enjoyable.
Finding more out about Imogen's background was interesting and gave a better insight into the protagonist. We also got to see a much softer side to Adrian, something that only serves his character with more depth and empathy. I found the sun characters to be a lot more likeable in this novel compared to its predecessor, which somewhat added to the suspense.
As with the first, I don't think the blurb on the jacket did this story any justice. I believe this series would have a huge following if only it were marketed a little more accurately.
